Dear Patrons and Friends,
I extend my best wishes to all with a view to attain your sincere attention and engagement in development of rural states of India and its role in nation building. Nivedita Nari Sangstha, a NGO of Cachar, Assam was established in the year 1996 to promote the welfare of the downtrodden women and children of Barak Valley, Assam and its surrounding States. Since its inception, the organization is playing a significant and vital role in various women oriented and child welfare programs.
Our Country is home to 158.7 million children in the age group of 0-6 years. With nearly 20 per cent of the 0-4 years’ child population of the world and this is our privilege that we possess the largest number of children in the world. However growth in literacy and economy, the understanding of holistic development of children remains less understood, absorbed and assimilated and more importantly underinvested in our country.
Our organization’s mission is to focus on early childhood development programs aimed at addressing health, nutrition and the development needs of young children, pregnant and nursing mothers. In almost 20 years of its operation, Nivedita has been able to extend its services to major districts of lower Assam through its different in-house and Field programs, benefitting the vulnerable and underprivileged Women and children in the area.
As we move on with the above objectives and both short term and long term goals in hands like curbing poverty, Malnutrition and gender inequality, we need your support to be part of our mission of nation building, starting from our own rural geographies.
